Google new platform Android One and its first phone

Google launched its new platform Android One on Monday September 15. The main purpose of this platform is to target the entry level smartphones to emerge in the market. Google will launched this  platform to Middle East countries like Pakistan, Philippines , Sri Linka, Bangladesh and Indonesia. Currently the development is start for India only.





Why Low End Phones?

Google define that this Android One platform is for price sensitive users in the market. Google has open the doors to the price conscious users to own a smartphone with their latest updates like Kitkat 4.4 and fully optimized Play Store.

Is Price effects the Hardware?


According to Google, Android One uses the high quality hardware that is specially tuned for android. The phones are equipped with a 4.5 inch screen, front and rear camera (Front Camera : 2 MP and Rear Camera : 5 MP), 1 GB of RAM, MediaTek quad-core processor, dual-SIM slots, microSD storage and FM radios.

Android One first phone:

Indian manufacturer Karbonn released their first android one phone named Sparkle V. It has a 4.5-inch, 854x480 IPS display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor with Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 4GB storage space with microSD card slot, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, dual-SIM support, 1,700mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with guaranteed updates. The phone is about  $105 (INR 6399).

Google says phone manufacturers including HTC, Asus, Acer, Panasonic, and Lenovo are joining the program, alongside chip maker Qualcomm.
